Bulova saw more strong new watch offerings for Baselworld 2015 – with attractive designs and strong values. What I love about the “Bulova of today” is that in addition to its mainstream offerings, there are more and more products specifically designed for the watch aficionado, such as this limited edition version of the new Bulova Sea King – which feels like a less expensive alternative to the Omega Seamaster Ploprof watch. So let’s check out this circa $1,500 mechanical 1000-meter diver new from Bulova for 2015.
Full Review of Breitling Emergency II in two languages, English and Spanish. A watch that many hate and others worship, top technology for emergency stages of carrieres this fantastic watch in my opinion.
English Text. (Spanish text Below)
Breitling introduced its Breitling Emergency watch — the first wristwatch with a built-in emergency microtransmitter — in 1995. Since then, the watch has been worn and used by many professional pilots and has played a role in numerous search-and-rescue missions. At Baselworld 2013, Breitling introduced another world-first with its Emergency II, the first watch with a dual frequency locator beacon.
The original Breitling Emergency, which was designed to enable accurate homing in on pilots or passengers following a plane crash, operated on the 121.5 MHz international air distress frequency. Pilots prized it for its utility: it could be worn constantly on the wrist and serve as a supplement to standard onboard aircraft equipment. Around 40,000 Breitling Emergency watches have been sold since their launch.
The Breitling Emergency II represents the next generation of its predecessor’s life-saving microtechnology. The very first wristwatch equipped with a built-in personal locator beacon (PLB), its dual frequency transmitter is compliant with the specifications of the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite alert system and can be used both to issue alerts and to guide search-and-rescue missions.
Watches & Famous Sportmen´s, normally, big brands seek ambassadors for their big watches. making special editions, successfully exploit the sports men and women to promote their brands and create a larger Marketplace for its other references. Here is a small sample of some champions with their watches.
Kobe Bryant; Hublot “Black Mamba” The L.A. Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, who has won multiple NBA championships, is nicknamed “Black Mamba” for his slippery, on-court athleticism, “Black Mamba” is also the nickname of his personal Hublot King Power wristwatch, which has a purple-and-gold Lakers color scheme on the dial’s hands, indices and numerals; a Kobe Bryant signature in gold on the sapphire caseback; and a python leather strap. The Hublot King Power Black Mamba is limited to 250 pieces. As of March 2013, Los Angeles Lakers star basketball player Kobe Bryant is officially an Hublot watch brand ambassador. The Swiss watch brand (part of the LVMH luxury group) sells watches averaging about $20,000 – $30,000 in price and also recently became the official timekeeper of the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe’s deal with Hublot is unrelated to the fact that the watchmaker also sponsors his team. This week in Los Angeles, Hublot announced their new relationship with the popular athlete as well as a new limited edition watch dedicated to Mr. Bryant.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has just taken the ultimate plunge as a serious watch lover and launched his own brand of eponymously named watches with the new Arnold Schwarzenegger watch brand. Most of the Arnold Schwarzenegger watches will be priced in the $600 – $1,500 range and represent Arnold’s character, career, and timepiece preferences. I sat down with Arnold Schwarzenegger at Baselworld 2015 to chat about watches, his collection, and why now was the time to start his own watch collection with his name on the dial. And, yes of course, the watches are massive. Even the ladies’ versions are 45mm wide.
